What is Business Awards?
LiveWIRE Brunei Business Awards is designed to reward and recognise outstanding young entrepreneurs in Brunei Darussalam who produce high quality business planning and conduct impressive business operations.
Awards given are an integral part of the Shell LiveWIRE International Programmes organised around the world.
This year’s edition of LiveWIRE Brunei Business Awards is fully funded by Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) Sdn Bhd.

Categories
Category 1: Open
Businesses operating with a working product and/or services (Focusing in the 7 core areas)
A PDF of proof of registered business will be required.
Category 2: Higher Institutions
Aspiring studentpreneurs with a working demo/prototype inclusive of UBD, UTB, IBTE, PB, UNISSA & Private Colleges
Eligibility Criterias
Eligible:
- Bruneian or permanent resident.
- Must be a registered business.
- Operating businesses with a working product or service.
- The product and service MUST fall under the 7 core areas listed.
- Participants are expected to provide a demo of their working prototype during Pitching.
Upon registering, you must committed to participate in all phases unless stated otherwise.
Non-Eligible:
- Previous winners of Business Awards are not permitted to participate. i.e. same entrepreneur, with new business/product.
- Unregistered businesses. i.e. Businesses without 16/17.
- Early stage entrepreneurs without a working prototype/services.
- Businesses that fail to meet the requirements will be disqualified.
Eligible:
- Students from National Higher Institutions or Private Colleges of Brunei Darussalam.
- Alumni from National Higher Institutions or Private Colleges of Brunei Darussalam that has graduated within one year of registering for the Shell LiveWIRE Business Awards.
- Bruneian or permanent resident.
- Business ideas that are still in ideation stage are acceptable, provided there is already a working prototype or service.
- The product and service MUST fall under the 7 core areas listed.
- Participants are expected to provide a demo of their working prototype or service during Pitching.

The 7 Focus Areas
Agrotechnology
The application of technology to produce more with less, to make the farming process more efficient, from field monitoring to the food supply chain itself.
Business Innovation
Entrepreneurs who demonstrate innovation in their business model or their products or services.
Digitalisation
The use of digital technologies to change a business model and provide new revenue with value-producing opportunities.
Smart Manufacturing
The notion of orchestrating physical and digital processes within factories and across other supply chain functions to optimize current and future supply and demand requirements.
Edutainment (Education, Arts & Culture)
It includes passive, interactive forms of entertainment that respect art and culture, and is aimed at education and entertainment by making learning fun and enjoyable.
Social Impact
Entrepreneurs whose business supports their local community and addresses social issues such as unemployment.
Environmental Sustainability (Energy Transition & Waste Management)
Enterprises that are operating in a way that is preserving the environment.

Yes. You need to submit your current business plan for us to evaluate your core business before proceeding to the next phase.
Yes. Your business MUST fit into any of the 7 core areas listed:
- Agrotechnology
- Environmental Sustainability
- Digitalisation
- Smart Manufacturing
- Social Impact
- Business Innovation
- Edutainment
It is not compulsory for the whole team to attend. However, it is recommended to send 1-2 representatives from the company to attend the workshops throughout the whole duration.
A team must register a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 5 members in a Business Awards application.

You are eligible to participate if the new product falls under the 7 core areas listed, or you will be disqualified immediately.
